MySummoning uses Google's Gemini AI to generate spirit guide responses. We require you to use your own API key for several reasons:

Privacy: Your conversations go directly from your device to Google's API without passing through our servers
Cost control: You can manage your own usage within Google's free tier limits
Customization: Having your own API key allows for a more personalized experience

You can obtain a Gemini API key for free from Google's AI Studio website.

How do I set up my Gemini API key?

To set up your Gemini API key:

Visit Google AI Studio (https://makersuite.google.com/) and create a free account
Navigate to the API keys section and create a new key
Copy your API key
Open MySummoning and tap "Activate the Connection" on the home screen
Paste your API key in the provided field and save

Your API key is stored securely on your device and is never sent to our servers.

Is MySummoning connecting me with real spirits?

No. MySummoning is an entertainment application only. All responses are generated by Google's Gemini AI technology based on pre-defined spirit personas. The app does not connect you with real supernatural entities, and all content should be treated as fictional and for entertainment purposes only.

Can I rely on the guidance provided by the spirit guides?

How does the Daily Guidance feature work?

The Daily Guidance feature allows you to receive scheduled messages from your selected spirit guides. To set it up:

Go to the Settings tab
Enable Daily Guidance
Select your preferred frequency (daily/weekly)
Choose the time you want to receive guidance
Select which spirit(s) you want to receive guidance from

The app will send you local notifications based on your preferences. These notifications are processed entirely on your device.

What are Spells and how do I use them?

In MySummoning, "Spells" are simply a way to save your personal intentions or goals. You can:

Go to the Spells tab
Tap "Create New Spell"
Write your intention
Optionally, request a ritual suggestion from a spirit guide
Save your spell to revisit later

Spells are stored locally on your device and are meant for personal reflection purposes only.

What if I hit my API usage limits?

Google's Gemini API has usage quotas that may limit your interactions if you exceed the free tier limits. If you encounter limitations:

Wait until your quota resets (typically daily)
Consider upgrading to a paid Google API plan if you're a heavy user
Try using shorter messages, as they consume less of your quota
